Results for May 12th Shoot We were very glad to see Mike Stackfleth return to Deer Creek and he did it in style winning HOA on Skip Peck's interesting targets on the Blue Course We are pleased that every class qualified for punches, and that we had multiple entries for both Husband and Wife and for Parent and Child.
Here are the winners of the shoot today at Deer Creek - perfect weather and we had a huge turn out of 95 shooters. Once again Steve Nelson triumphed with a 92 - the only score in the 90's! Well done Steve. NSCA Shoot Results Januray 6th Season Opener One could expect the temperatures in January to be less than 80's, they were last year and then it favoured the winter visitors from the North, but not today. We had a great turn out, TOO large for the new score boards, I will be back to Staples for two more next week! The 14 station course was busy from 9 until 11:30 and the 68 shooters enjoyed themselves. Congratulations to all our Winners First Last Class Score

Parent/Child: Bob & Kevin Bilthouse NSCA registered shoot October 14th. resultsWe had 12 stations on the Red course some of which looked like the same from last month, but were not, and some were new ones. It was good to see old friends returning –Peter and Mave Bywell, and Rusty Olson, as well as many of our regulars. We know that hunting in Georgia took about 10 shooters away and it seems a stomach bug caused a lot of last minute cancellations from those who had pre-registered. We hope they are well again soon.
Steve Nelson triumphed again, and the rest of his family did not do too badly either. Congratulations to all our winners.
We used two secret stations to decide ties this time. We also ran the Ronald McDonald House option and our winners were Mike Spyker and Jim Bowers they each collected $55. So far we have raised $220 for this very worthwhile charity since we started last month.
I want to thank David Muzzey, Dakota Rayburn and especially Skip Peck for their hard work in setting the targets. Most folks found the targets to be deceptive and needing more than little thought. The Red Course is still set if you want to come and try these targets?
Here are the details
We look forward to seeing you all again next month on 11/11 for the Veterans Day shoot.
Here are the results of the shoot on 9/9/06 at Deer Creek SC of Tampa
The weather was very kind to the 82 shooters who took to the Red Course, we had some new faces visit and shoot with us, and some old friends who have returned to Land O'Lakes, we were happy to see them all. I want to thank again Skip Peck, David Muzzey and Ian Hurd for their creativity and hard work in setting these targets
The detailed results are below, Congratulations to HOA Steve Nelson with a 96/100, and a close shoot off between the two remaining shooters on 87 - David Caudill took the RU slot from Will Glusac.
Shoot off's we also needed to settle C3 - John Long beat Chris Volf by one target, and in a single shot shoot off, John also took the Super Vet 2 slot. We are thinking of having a couple of secret stations since many folks traveled long distances - Miami, West Palm Beach, Naples, Georgia(!) and Jacksonville so they needed to get on the road ASAP.
C and D class had 10 shooters who have started shooting registered events this year at Deer Creek, initially as Hunter Class and then joined NSCA. Lets hope some of the 23 Hunter Class shooters in this event will join NSCA as well?
We want to thank Gene Pleus for bring over the SCTP shooters and parents and his family(!) It is great to see new shooters taking up Sporting Clays.
I will not be specific, but the youngest shooter was 11 and the oldest shooter was 87, what other sport can be enjoyed by such a wide range of ages?
The two 'sort out stations' were 5 and 7. The double teal and the fast crossers. Three shooters straighted the double teal - Steve Nelson, David Caudill, and recently promoted into D Class Bob Sowinski. The first teal is low, but the second teal, if taken at the top is over 70 yards high.
Station 7 proved to be the hardest station of all, a left to right standard followed by a right to left 90. The speeds were different and the background make them appear to be doing things they are not. As a consequence the three highest scores were all 7/8 - and it was Paul Devane, Mike Manion and Gary Berne who achieved that score, well done all three of you.
The Red Course will stay set as it was for the competition for a couple of weeks, Sunday saw quite a few folks redoing their bogey stations.

Trivia QuizAs part of the Blood Drive, we offered a membership at Deer Creek for the person who got the answer to this question –
“Why won’t Florida Blood Services take Roger’s Blood”
The issue is that FBS/FDA does not (yet) have a test for Mad Cow Disease, so anyone who lived in the UK, and ate Beef while there, is not allowed to give blood.
The winner is Steve Hood, and the winner for the funniest answer is Connie Carrier who wins a T-Shirt for her reply - “Vampires know that English Food Sucks”
Here are the results of the NSCA shoot at Deer Creek Sporting Clays on March 11th – the Constitution day Shoot postponed from February. The weather was just about perfect and we had some fun and many new shooters came to try registered shooting for the first time. A great turn out for Husband and Wife and for Parent and child – we had 6 sets of parents and children – they are all winners in our book. The targets were a combined effort of Skip Peck, Jack Houghton and Ed Couture, mnay thnaks to them. We had to keep Ian off that side of the porperty all week so he could not see what was being planned. David Muzzey bought our new traps up to speed - although from some of the reactions to the Chondelle Rabbit pair and the Double Rabbit maybe some folks wish we did not have them? Conratulations to Cole Gard on HOA, and to all our class and concurrent winners. Our Next NSCA shoot is Mother Day Eve - May 13th.

The results of the 2006 Season Opener at Deer Creek Sporting Clays of Tampa are below. There is no doubt that the chilliness of the morning affected some shooters. It is noticeable that the equal HOA shooters were from New Jersey and they led the field by 4 clays – could it be that they tolerated the 41 degrees better than us Floridians? It is my view that the cold probably took 7-10 points off people’s scores. Many thanks to all who came and shot with us. It is nice to report that four of the class winners took punches home.
I want to thank Skip Peck and Jack Houghton for their efforts last week and this week in setting the targets, they did a great job and Skip kept an eye on things on the course and Jack ran the Five Stand and the Warm Up as well on Saturday. Also many thanks to the Deer Creek Staff of David Muzzey, Ian Hurd and Ed Couture who kept things running not only for the NSCA shoot but for the even larger number of casual shooters who went out on the Red and White courses while the registered shoot was in progress. Cathy is especially grateful to Pam Evanoff and Terry Houghton for helping out in the office, registering shooters and scoring cards and posting results and all that entails.
By the way, if you have noticed the cleanliness of the stations – both the cages and the trash around the stations, please say thank you to Jim Johnson who cooks lunches on Saturday and Sunday but has taken on the additional work of policing the courses. He is doing a great job and we thank him for that.
Our next registered shoot will be February 4th . Our first SCTP Clinic is this Saturday 14th January at 10 AM
We will be holding a fund raiser shoot for the Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce Scholastic Scholarship Fund on January 21st Sponsorships and Team Entries are still being accepted for that. As some of you may know, Cathy is the President of the Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce. She has challenged the other Chambers in the area to a “Presidents Match” and so far Larry DeLucenay has accepted on behalf of Central Pasco Chamber in Land O’Lakes. There is no truth in the rumor that Cathy is flying in selected well known British shooters for her team!
Thnaks again to all our shooter – registered and non-registered, we enjoy iving you testing targets for your shooting pleasure

Guy Fawkes shoot November 5th Congratulations to Pat Welch who made a long journey and yet shot very well. Also congrats to the punch winners - Pat Welch, Bruce Potter, Jim Bradford and John Barwick.Ladies Champion was Diane Nelson, Vet Champ was Pat Welch, and Senior Vet Champ was Skip Freeze. We had a couple of single shot shoot-offs as people had left but Ken Stewart and Ray Gillespie showed they were made of sterner stuff as they battled on for three rounds before Ray emerged as the winner of the C3 slot. Husband and Wife Champions were Wayne and Diane Nelson, no Junior or Sub-Junior shooters this time, hence no Parent and Child winners. The Hunter class was closely fought - this month Ed Gilbert pipped Truman Campbell, last month's winner Here are the details - Pat Welch M 83 HOA V1 Jim Bowers M 82 M1 V2 Wayne Nelson M 81 M2 Diane Nelson M 74 M3 L1 Skip Freeze M 70 SV1 Larry McIntire M 68 SV2 Gary Berne AA 80 AA1 Marcos Valente AA 73 AA2 Jerry Seaman AA 68 AA3 SV3 Bruce Potter A 80 A1 Paul Devane A 77 A2 V3 Eric Stemmler A 73 A3 Imanol Achurro A 68 Charles Turner A 66 Angel Ramos A 64 Mike Manion A 62 Ed Johns A 57 Jim Bradford B 68 B1 Peter Bywell B 65 B2 Rick Waddell B 64 B3 J B Croft B 64 Billy Crooks B 63 Dick Orenstein B 57 Larry Morgan B 50 John Barwick C 74 C1 Chris Volf C 67 C2 Ray Gillespie C 65 C3 Ken Stewart C 65 Harvey Lovelace C 64 Ken Copeland C 61 Dick Staples C 60 Denny Densmore C 57 George Eddy C 53 Melinda Earle C 53 L3 Benjamin Exner C 37 Greg Bailey D 68 D1 Angela Debatin D 62 D2 L2 Jeff Hodges D 61 D3 Lonnie Cox D 58 Bob Sowinski E 67 E1 Nick Nickitas E 53 E2 Mavis Bywell E 49 E3 Ed Gilbert H 66 H1 Truman Campbell H 64 H2 Chip Springer H 60 H3 Ed Sarrine H 58 Steve Bogan H 52 Bob Hodges H 50 Rusty Olson H 45 We also had a trivia quiz about Guy Fawkes - the question was, "How was the Gun Powder plot discovered", and we had 13 answers that were close enough to count - one lucky person had their name drawn and they received a refund of their shoot fees for the day! and the winner was...drum roll.. Summer Sizzler September 18th. We had a small but select bunch of shooters for our re-arranged shoot - the results are: Mike Stackfleth 93 Well the Inaugural NSCA Registered Shoot at Deer Creek turned out to be a little wetter than we would have liked after 5 inches of rain on Saturday afternoon However we are NOT thinking of changing the name to Deer Creek Water Sports Park ! We want to thank all the 44 shooters who came from near and far to sample our targets and food. We also want to thank the crew from University of Florida Trap and Skeet Club especially Jessica Renfrow for bringing the team of referees to Deer Creek. I would like to thank Gregg Nelson for his shoot report and photos on another web site, http://www.losttarget.com/shoots2005/0605deercreek/default.htm Thanks too for the kind words from a bunch of folks. I cannot thank some people enough, firstly the Deer Creek Staff of David Muzzey and Ian Hurd, but especially the target setter extraordinaire Skip Peck - he and I worked together, most of the time in harmony, but I really do want to give thanks and due credit to Skip for the work, thought, ingenuity and caring that he brought to setting targets. I also want to thank Bob Feliconio, for running the Five Stand for the warm up, and afterwards. But the heroes of the day award goes to Pam and Fred Evanoff. We are very lucky to have people to call at 7:30AM on a Sunday who will come out and score a station with no notice what so ever - Thank you Pam and Fred from the bottom of our heart. Congratulations to our champions, our class winners, and the concurrent winners. We look forward to seeing you all again on July 10 th .
